By choosing a family owned accommodation you support the persons that are taking care of you during your vacation
The village Faliraki at Rhodes Island is know of a long beach with soft sand and also of a nightlife. A little away from the centrum is a more peaceful area and a hotel called Zoes Hotel Studios. We stayed there for a week on our family vacation on June 2018. We found the hotel on our own and because of the nice reviews we desided to reserve a family room. Our decision ended up being spot on and we got to enjoy the hospitality and friendliness only rarely seen on travels.
Hotel location
Zoes Hotel Studios is located near Anthony Quinn Beach and about 2,5 kilometers South from Faliraki center. The location in this peaceful area means that it’s wise to get a rental car so you can move around more freely. Naturally you can get a taxi but a car ready for you at Hotel parking lot is always better.
From Airport it’s about 19 kilometers and takes about 20 minutes to drive.
If you don’t necessarily want to be at the Rodos Town or next to party places, this location is perfect. You are at a peaceful location with a rooster going “cock-a-doodle-doo” in the morning (not waking you up though) and a lazy-looking horse doing it’s own things on a nearby field. You can easily drive to locations you want to visit from the hotel. Tsambika Monastery is quite near and if you start your journey towards the Valley of the Butterflies, you are near the best looking scenic route there.
Hotel
Zoes Hotel Studios is the two parts. The rooms are located in a separate three floor building. Reception and restaurant (plus bar, minimarket etc.) are in front of that. No noice that might come from the bar (e.g. the Greek night arranged once a week) reach the rooms. At least not to the rooms on top floor.
A pool is located next to restaurant building and there is also a very small pool for little children. There are some sunbeds that you can use. People with difficulties to move have also been taken into consideration. There are ramps that you can use to reach the rooms on first floor. For second and third floor you need to use stairs. There was also a some kind of Gym in a separate building but it was a bit too hot and moist weather for me to even consider working out.
Rooms
I have experience only on Family Room here. It was a clean through-the-house shaped room where beds were put as 2 + 2. They could be moved separate though so Kids didn’t have to sleep so close to each other. There was also a flat TV, minikitchen and a safety box. We had reserved a room with a seaview and yes, you could see it somewhere in the distance. Mainly you saw the beautiful garden and the pool area. There are no rooms with a view to the opposite direction. That would not be so nice since there’s only a highway with quite heavy traffic.
I thought there was enough space in the room even as family of four. By my understanding, all the rooms are the same size so if you only have 2 person room, you have even more space.
Service
Service is the part where Zoes Hotel Studios is at it’s best. On our one week stay, we felt like we had come as a guests to their family. They were so friendly all the time and the attention they gave to children was admirable. Sometimes they even surprised our kids with a lollipop or waved for them with a smile. They also remembered their names. All this attention was done so, that even the Nordic persons like us didn’t feel uncomfortable but made a happy instead.
If you wanted to hear about a restaurant suitable for families or about a place to visit, the owners and personnel were happy to give you advice. I think the best way to describe the service is that we felt like we were the most important guests they had there. Even though they gave that same thing to all of their guests…just like it’s supposed to be.
Conclusion
Zoes Hotel Studios is really taking care of their guests, the cleanliness of the rooms and other places and you also get heavenly-good food from their restaurant. The Hotel is small enough for them to give everyone unique attention. I have been on Rhodes 5 times during my life and been in many hotels with different standards. I have not received this good service and care-taking in any other place. I just wonder how this is “only” a three star hotel since it’s worth a lot more. Maybe the criteria to reach more stars contain some extra services smaller hotels rarely have or something.
So if you a searching for a hotel in a more peaceful area and you also have a car in use, I can recommend Zoes Hotel Studios with all my heart. Just don’t reserve all the rooms all the time since I’d like to go back one day.
